Hearts Set on One Lake

“There’s a difference that went into planning this incredible community, and you can feel it. Everything is designed with intention—and you can tell how much thought and care went into bringing it to life.”

As an Air Force family, Justin, Vanessa and their two daughters had been living from one transition to the next. They owned a home in Paradise Valley Estates in Fairfield when they received the news that Justin would be deploying for an entire year. Vanessa knew she wanted to be closer to her support system in a house that was easier to maintain, and they were fortunate enough to be able to move their lives on base.

“Justin deployed a month after we moved into our house on base, and we were there for three years. But as soon as he retired, we had to quickly jump into the new home search.”

After living in military housing, Vanessa knew she wanted her new home to be contemporary and modern—but she also wanted to be close enough to her work and her daughters’ school on base. As soon as she saw one of the first signs for One Lake go up, she was searching the county website to see the initial sketches and development plans. She knew right then and there that this was where her family was going to live.

“I loved the entire vision for the development. We browsed other communities around the area as they popped up, but none measured up. One Lake checked all of our boxes and more.”

They visited the community in October 2020, taking a tour of the freshly crafted Glass House and newly built models at each neighborhood. While talking with the sales team at Creston by Lennar, Justin and Vanessa found out there would be an upcoming release of new homes that fit their time frame just right. They then chose the floor plan they wanted and entered their names for the lottery system selection. And to their delight, the phone soon rang with their dream home on the other end.

“We couldn’t be happier that we were able to get a Plan 3 design. Even though there was no model to tour at the time, we couldn’t part with the airy kitchen space and the upstairs loft.”

The family moved into their brand new home in June 2021. And it has that designer feel Vanessa was searching for, from the subtle sophistication of recessed lighting and large windows to custom-selected features and upgrades. And their design experience with Lennar was better than they could’ve imagined with a simple and streamlined process. Modern was at the top of their checklist—and their new space is as modern as it gets, from all the stylish elements to state-of-the-art smart technology.

“We’re really loving the Everything’s Included® features. The whole home feels so connected, and it’s super convenient to control anything from our phones.”

Justin, Vanessa and their daughters are loving every minute of settling into their brand new home. And they can’t wait to check more off their One Lake bucket list—whether it’s hopping on the Amtrak to Sacramento to explore new restaurants downtown, taking part in the planned cultivated garden experience at The Grove or enjoying all the incredible future amenities coming soon to the community, especially the Resident’s Club with a pool and spa, dining pavilion with a bar and so much more.

“We had our hearts set on One Lake. It’s so relaxing to walk around the 21-acre Lake-Park District, and we’re more than impressed with the overall design of the community. We can’t wait for our daughters to experience more free range with so many outdoor places to play.”
